Meet Margaret Kleiman

May 26, 2020

Future Kingsboro at Lenbrook resident Margaret Kleiman is accomplished, intelligent, and friendly. She had a 25-year career with IBM, spent 3 years planning for and managing the athlete’s village for the 1996 Paralympic Games here in Atlanta, and then spent yet another decade back the corporate world. She has a degree in Political Science from American University, and completed an academic year traveling the globe on the University of the Seven Seas. But when talking to Margaret about her life, one thing that stands out above all else: she’s just so darn busy.

“Since I retired, I participate in volunteer activities four or five days a week,” reports Margaret. “I do fundraising and help with a variety of events for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. I work with Angel Flight of Georgia, Cobb Performing Arts Centre and ArtsBridge program, and am active with the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame.” In the past, she’s lent her time to the CAtlanta Symphony, Alliance Theater, as well as the Atlanta Track Club and the Atlanta Sports Counsel.

As if her exhausting volunteering efforts aren’t enough to wear one out, Margaret is a huge sports fan, an avid shopper, and a passionate traveler. She has visited all 50 U.S. states and over 50 countries. She follows college and professional sports. For 10+ years she owned season tickets to the Braves, the Hawks, and the Falcons. She has been lucky enough to attend The Masters annually since 1988. And speaking of golf, she was a volunteer at the East Lake PGA Tour of Champions at East Lake for over a decade.

Margaret Kleiman is busy, active, and impressively involved. But somewhere amidst her very full days, she managed to find a wonderful future residence at Kingsboro at Lenbrook. “I have loved living in my house in Buckhead since the mid 80’s, but am looking forward to having more time to enjoy my days thanks to the hassle-free, maintenance-free lifestyle at Lenbrook. Lenbrook has an excellent reputation and a proven track record. The location is ideal and being able to select a new unit with a large floor plan in Kingsboro at Lenbrook was the icing on the cake.”

The on-site health care services were also a big factor in Margaret choosing Lenbrook’s new expansion for her future. As was the fact that Lenbrook is a not-for-profit community. “To me, that means stability.”

The stellar amenities, the convenience, and the on-site dining, (“I seldom cook!”) are also things Margaret looks forward to in her future life at Kingsboro at Lenbrook. She muses, “I’m sure I’ll take part in many of the exercise classes, the programs, and even the excursions. And I’m so impressed with the future neighbors I’ve met.”

Kingsboro at Lenbrook residents are going to be impressed with Margaret Kleiman, as well, if they can ever catch her sitting still!
